Prof Anand Sachithanandan is honorary Professor of Surgery at Universiti Malaya and a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon who has a clinical interest in lung cancer and the use of lung cancer screening to affect stage shift and detect disease earlier.
He co-founded and is immediate past president of the Lung Cancer Network Malaysia (LCNM), a not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation that seeks to improve lung cancer outcomes through greater awareness, education and advocacy – targeting patients, carers, healthcare providers and policymakers. As immediate past president of LCNM, Prof Sachithanandan has pioneered LDCT screening and the adoption of AI technology to improve rates of diagnosis. Prof Sachithanandan is currently practicing at Sunway Medical Centre and the Subang Jaya Medical Centre.
