Professor Kazerooni joined the faculty at the University of Michigan in 1992 after her medical degree and diagnostic radiology residency at University of Michigan, and fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. She has served many roles in organized radiology, including president of the American Roentgen Ray Society, the Society of Thoracic Radiology, the Association of University Radiologist and the Radiology Alliance for Health Services Research in Radiology, a member of the American College of Radiology’s Board of Chancellors and Executive Committee and Trustee of the American Board of Radiology, and sitting as the inaugural chair of the American Cancer Society’s Lung Cancer Screening Roundtable. She currently is the Executive Sponsor of lung cancer screening activities of the American College of Radiology, where she also chairs the lung cancer screening registry and the Lung-RADS committee, and serves as the Vice-Chair of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Guideline on Lung Cancer Screening.
Professor Kazerooni has received numerous awards and honours. She is an elected fellow of the American College of Radiology, and the Society of Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance. She has received the Gold Medal of the American Roentgen Ray Society, Association of University Radiologists and Society of Thoracic Radiology, Madame Curie Award from the American Association of Women Radiologists, Leadership Inspiration Award from the Society of Thoracic Radiology, Early Distinguished Career award from the University of Michigan Medical School’s Alumni Society, Achievement Award from the Radiology Alliance of Health Services Research, and Women in Leadership Executive Impact Award from Linkage.
