Biography: Dr Raez is the chief scientific officer and medical director of the Memorial Cancer Institute (MCI). He is also the co-director of the MCI/Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Cancer Center of Excellence and director of the Thoracic Oncology Program.
His research interests are lung cancer, cancer disparities and liquid biopsies. He specialises in translational and clinical research and he designs phase I-III clinical trials to develop new targeted agents and immunotherapy
Dr Raez also holds the positions of Clinical Professor of Medicine at Florida International University, visiting Professor of Medicine at Cayetano Heredia University (Peru) and Research Professor at FAU. He has previously been the President and Vice-President of the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO) and Chair of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) membership committee.
He is currently Chair of the IASLC Latin American group, international Chair of the IASLC-Latin-American Meeting, Chair and founder of the Miami Cancer Meeting, co-Chair at the Puerto Rico Fall Cancer Symposia. Dr Raez also helped to found the Oncology Latin-American Association (OLA).
