Professor Adamek’s interests lie in lung cancer prevention and screening, as well as low-dose computed tomography with a particular focus on molecular biology methods, prediction models and image analysis aimed at enhancing the performance of lung screening outcomes.
Professor Adamek earned his MD and PhD degrees from the Medical University of Silesia and completed his postdoctoral studies at the Faculty of Life Sciences, Bar-Ilan University in Ramat Gan, Israel, under the supervision and mentorship of Professor Asher Shainberg.
Professor Adamek currently works at two medical universities (Silesia and Gdańsk), holding a Professorship in Medicine and Health Sciences.
Professor Adamek is an enthusiast of harnessing functional genomics, fighting cancer cells’ resistance and targeted therapy. He has long been fascinated by a multidisciplinary approach to medicine, physics and computer science.
