Pan-Chyr Yang
Professor of Internal Medicine
National Taiwan University
Taiwan
Professor Yang is Chair Professor of National Taiwan University College of Medicine and former President of National Taiwan University. His major research interests are pulmonary and critical care medicine, lung cancer genomics, translational research and precision cancer medicine.
As a pioneer in pulmonary ultrasound diagnostics, Professor Yang’s research group has also identified novel genes and pathways associated with lung cancer progression and biomarkers for prediction of treatment response in lung cancer patients. The research group identified the distinct proteogenomic signatures of pathogenesis and progression of never-smoker lung cancer in East Asian populations. Professor Yang is currently leading the Taiwan Lung Cancer Screening for Never-Smoker Trial (TALENT), a nationwide LDCT screening study focused on identification of early cancers in high-risk never smokers. He plans to develop a risk score predictor to include family history and environmental factors to understand which non-smokers are at high risk of lung cancer.
